The Embassy of the Order of Malta took part in the ceremony of commemoration of the fallen defenders of Ukraine at the National Memorial of Remembrance in Kyiv.
The ceremony was attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, foreign leaders who arrived in Kyiv that day, and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps.
The Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, delivered a video-message to the “Defence and Security Strategy of Unity” Summit, convened by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today, on the third anniversary of war in Ukraine.
Following the resignation of Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis, the Sovereign Council, convened for an extraordinary session, appointed Josef D. Blotz as Grand Hospitaller of the Order of Malta.
