First aid course for employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On 15-17th of January 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine hosted a first aid training course for diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, organized by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Ukraine with the support of the Malteser Relief Service of Ukraine.

The programme has been developed in accordance with the content and methodology of the Malteser Relief Service First Aid Courses, as well as the recommendations of the European Reanimation Council, taking into account the Procedures for Providing First Aid to Persons in Emergency Conditions by Non-Medical Personnel in accordance with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Decree No. 441 of 09.03.2022 and the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine.

During the training, Ukrainian diplomats received theoretical training, including the basics of safety at the location of an incident, the algorithm for an emergency call, assessment of the victim’s condition and first aid.

Particular attention was paid to developing practical skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults and children of all ages, stable lateral positioning, use of automated external defibrillators and assistance with a foreign body in the respiratory tract.
