On 1 March 2023, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Ukraine Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone attended the inauguration of a new house for displaced persons in Sambir, near Lviv.

The house, inaugurated by the Order of Malta’s Relief Corps in Ukraine, can accommodate some 100 people.

“Some 3,500 internally displaced people live in our community, so we have a huge need for housing. 105 people will live in this facility,” said the mayor of Sambir, Yuriy Gamar.

The project was realized thanks to funding from Malteser International, the Order of Malta’s international relief agency for humanitarian aid, and Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
